Fiberglass tanks are actually fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) — that is, they are plastic tanks that have been reinforced with fiberglass, similar to the way that rebar strengthens concrete. There are two methods for making these tanks: the chopper gun method and the filament winding method.
