Flame Retardant PVC Compound

(4 Reviews)
  • PVC is an inherently fire resistant plastic, the only exception among the general-purpose plastics, since it contains more than 50% of chlorine.
Chlorinated paraffins can be used by partially replacing antimony trioxide. Zinc Borate can be used as a fire retardant component in PVC, partially replacing antimony trioxide. Hydrated minerals, such as alumina tri-hydrate or magnesium hydroxide, can be very effective as flame retardants in PVC polymers.
