Plate and Frame Filters

(3 Reviews)
  • A filter press in which the spaces for the caked solid matter are formed by inserting hollow frames between each pair of plates instead of providing the plates with raised edges.
Plate filters are used for the separation of suspended solids (mainly activated carbon) from glucose syrup. This type of equipment is commonly termed “cake filtration” because the buildup of solids forms a cake that acts as a filter medium.
