Polyvinylidene Fluoride

(3.5 Reviews)
  • PVDF is commonly used as insulation on electrical wires, because of its combination of flexibility, low weight, low thermal conductivity, high chemical corrosion resistance, and heat resistance
PVDF (polyvinylidene difluoride) membranes are widely used for immunoblotting techniques such as Western blots. During Western blots, samples are transferred from a protein gel onto the PVDF membrane by electroblotting, and then used for immunodetection or protein sequencing.
